My efforts to create whimsical sculptural metal beasts with as few parts as possible was rewarded. It was often the case that a single farm implement or scrap metal piece would jump out of the landfill site screaming I am the fangs of a wild beast or the wings of another! Indoor and outdoor scrap metal iron creatures sprang to life and took on their personas as each component was welded into place. We often miss the beauty and the simplicity when we focus only on the function of the items instead of their unique form.
